What it is

What VIGA Accepted Here is

When a pet emergency comes in and the owner can’t cover the full bill, they can apply to VIGA from their phone, in minutes. If approved, VIGA pays your clinic directly. The pet owner repays VIGA over 90 days to 6 months with zero interest and zero fees, always.

VIGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our loans are charitable capital that goes around again: every dollar repaid helps the next family and their pet.

For your clinic

  • Free for your clinic. No fees, no discount rate, no minimums.
  • Paid by ACH 1–2 business days after we accept your claim.
  • No credit risk to you. If the owner doesn’t repay, that’s VIGA’s loss, not yours.
  • You never make loan decisions. The owner applies to VIGA directly.
  • Loans of $250 to $2,500 per borrower, for care at your clinic.

Signing up

Seven screens, about 20 minutes.

The clinic owner starts the sign-up and signs the agreement. You can save and come back at any time. During the pilot, your practice must be in Texas.

Questions

What clinics ask us

Does it cost the clinic anything?
No. There's no enrollment fee, no transaction fee and no discount rate. VIGA pays you the full amount you claim, up to the approved ceiling.
What if the owner stops repaying VIGA?
That's VIGA's risk, not yours. Once you're paid, you're done. VIGA never sues borrowers; we work with them through written notices and 0% payment plans.
How fast do we get paid?
By ACH, 1–2 business days after we accept your claim. Claims with missing invoices or amounts that don't match take longer.
Who can use VIGA right now?
Texas residents aged 18 or older with a US bank account in their own name, for care at an enrolled Texas clinic. The loan is $250 to $2,500.
Can we leave the program?
Yes, with 30 days' written notice. Authorizations already issued are still honored.

Say yes to the treatment. We’ll handle the rest.

Texas pilot disclosures

Zero-interest, zero-fee bridge loans for pet emergencies, currently available only to Texas residents for care at participating veterinary clinics. Loans from $250 to $2,500. All loans are subject to approval, and not everyone will qualify. VIGA never charges interest or fees of any kind.

Checking eligibility
Checking your eligibility uses a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. You will also be asked to securely link your bank account so we can understand what you can comfortably repay.
How the money moves
VIGA pays your veterinary clinic directly. VIGA does not send cash to borrowers.
Credit reporting
VIGA may report your payment history to credit bureaus. On-time payments may help your credit; late or missed payments may hurt it.
Participating clinics
Participating clinics are independent businesses. They do not make loan decisions, and VIGA does not provide or control veterinary care. Questions about treatment or its cost go to your clinic.
Donations
Donations to VIGA are separate from lending. Donating, or not donating, never affects any loan decision.
Protect yourself
VIGA communicates only by email and postal mail. VIGA will never call you to ask for a payment, and never asks for gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency or payment apps. If someone does, it isn't VIGA. Report it to info@viga.org.
Outside Texas
